Braces.
I was told at 20 that I would be stuck with braces for three years. Obviously I was stupid enough not to get them sooner when I was younger, so now I have to deal with my catastrophic metal-metal-train-tracks-that's-taking-over-my-mouth in my early twenties when my whole life should be blooming.

Well, it's been two years already and my dentist told me last Friday that I might only have four or five more months left with them, which made me reply, "Yay, just in time for summer," only to realize it's already April, so five more months would make it September.

September! That's past summer. Damn it.

So I can't be pretty this summer either, just like last summer and the summer before that when I had braces. This braces thing and the whole I-can't-smile-because-I-look-like-I-have-torture-instruments-in-my-mouth are getting extremely annoying.

La la la. Five more months. Just five more months. Then I can smile. And take pictures.

pssh, you're still beautiful now.

I was lucky, I only had to have braces for about 7 months.

I NEVER smiled open mouthed back before I had braces... But when I got them I started to smile with my metal mouth showing because they were much better than my nasty, mangled smile back then! Anyway, braces are cute if you don't feel self-conscious about them... Wear them proud and smile like you've never smiled before!

P.S. They never say they're coming off when they should. And not to shoot your hopes down, but my doc told me that they should be coming off "soon" but it still took a long while. It's hard to say because teeth don't always shift the way that the doctor predicts them to. But since he actually gave you an approximate time-frame, maybe he'll actually be able to stick to it.

For the last three months, he kept on saying I'll be able to get them off 'soon,' so I got annoyed and asked him what does he mean by 'soon,' like one month soon or 10 months soon? Bah. He finally told me about four to five months. *crosses fingers* It's actually a bit of my fault it took this long since I didn't wear my rubber bands :( :( :(

And you're right, my teeth were especially gross before I had braces, so even with all this metal in my mouth, my teeth are 100x better than before when my k9 looked like it was going to poke a hole in someone's neck >.<.
